The Flaming Lips Schedule

Most of the time when bands go on tour together, they take the stage one at a time. Sure, there’s a song or two that they’ll combine but it’s nothing like the upcoming “side-by-side” tour scheduled with The Flaming Lips and Weezer.
According to Weezer’s website, the bands will combine their songs together on the same stage “into one massive gargantuan supersetlist. The bands will trade off setlist segments, switch off songs, share the stage and get loose and crazy together. No one is quite sure yet how it’s gonna go, but everyone is super excited!”

The Flaming Lips just debuted a new music video for the song “The Sparrow Looks Up at the Machine” from the October 2009 album Embryonic.
The video begins with a warning: “…may not be suitable for children or sensitive adults.” Let me tell you, this isn’t something you want to be watching while you eat your breakfast. That’s because the video is a concoction of tortured hostage, painting in blood, a monkey and…well, I’ll let you see the rest for yourself. All the while, the Lips are singing in the background, “What does it mean? What does it mean?”

The 2010 Austin City Limits Festival has just announced its lineup! I am happy to report that the Flaming Lips will be headlining the festival events on Sunday, October 10th! Other headlining performances include The Eagles, Muse, Phish, The Strokes and M.I.A.
The three-day festival takes place October 8-10th, on Zilker Park’s lush 46 acres in the heart of Austin, TX. With 130 artists from around the globe, the best of local eats and wares, “Austin Kiddie Limits” for the kids, and the latest in eco-friendly and green happenings, attendees experience a lot for the cost of Austin City Limits tickets. It has been announced that Steven Drozd, multi-instrumentalist for The Flamings Lips has been hospitalized. Although specific details regarding his condition have not been publicized, doctors are expecting a full recovery in the coming weeks.
As a result, the band has been forced to cancel and reschedule a few performances:
